Our Story
Our story unfolded on a beautiful sunny day at Rutgers University-Newark in October 2017. As Sienna returned from class, lost in the world of words, she didn't notice when a gentle voice interrupted her thoughts. Looking up, she met the eyes of a stranger, Sam, who had been captivated by her grace and how she seemed lost in her own world. Sam was timid, his voice barely above a whisper. Our exchange began casually, discussing each other's majors and career dreams. Sam, asked to accompany her to her dormitory building while going to his psychology class. We said farewell, exchanging numbers with hopeful smiles, leaving Sienna charmed by his endearing timidity. Sienna was humored when Sam did not let her go without verifying her phone number with the "856" area code since she is from South Jersey. From that moment forward, we knew that this beautiful day had marked the beginning of something truly special.
Shortly after class, we found ourselves at Applebee's on a crisp evening for our first date. As we enjoyed our meals, with each shared smile and laughter over casual conversation, we discovered a comfortable connection. We realized that sometimes, the most unexpected places can be the setting for the most magical beginnings. Sam wasted no time expressing to Sienna his strong sense and boldly stated on our second encounter, "I can tell Ima be attached to you." This left Sienna momentarily speechless with his candid declaration.
From that point on, our connection deepened with each passing day. Through several romantic dates, late-night conversations, shared laughter, travel journeys, countless adventures, and an unwavering love that would stand the test of time. Our love blossomed as we navigated the transitions of college life; with Sam graduating in May of 2018 and Sienna continuing her studies, our bond remained unbreakable. Sam's dedication knew no bounds. He was her rock, from helping Sienna with her Resident Assistant duties to lending a hand with her history papers. His actions spoke volumes through his constant encouragement and heartfelt gestures, leaving no doubt in Sienna's heart that they were meant to be.
Amongst the challenges of the Covid pandemic, following Sienna's graduation in May of 2020, we made the heartfelt decision to leap into adulthood, moving in together to Carteret, New Jersey, and beginning our careers in Northern New Jersey. Despite the challenges of being confined at home due to the pandemic, our love continued to thrive as we remained steadfast and resilient.
In August of 2021, Sienna's career transitioned into a new role, prompting her relocation to North Carolina. Fear threatened to overshadow our love. However, Sam kept his words and promises and remained by her side, overcoming the distance with his everlasting dedication. Every other weekend, he boarded a flight to be with her, proving the limitlessness of love.
In August of 2022, Sienna's rotational assignment was coming to an end. As Sam was planning an engagement surprise celebration for her return, we received the greatest blessing of all the news of our impending parenthood. With Joy in our hearts, Sienna returned home to a surprise trip to St Lucia. In a moment of pure love and anticipation the following week, Sam asked Sienna to be his forever, sealing our bond with a ring.
In March of 2023, our love reached new heights with the arrival of our precious baby, Sevyn, filling our hearts with boundless joy and gratitude. Together, we embraced the joys and challenges of parenthood and maneuvering the highs and lows hand in hand.
In July of the same year, we took another leap of faith, purchasing our first home together, a testament to our shared dreams and commitment to building a future filled with love and laughter.
And now, as we approach eternity, we are overwhelmed by thankfulness for our beloved friends and family's steadfast love and support. Your presence in our lives has enriched our journey in countless ways, and we are eternally grateful for your love and encouragement.
